Virtual, three-dimensional, animated creatures – dragons – beasts, in the form of a 3D model or its sketch made according to the Stage I specification defined below, should be submitted by filling out the form by April 28, 2022. Sending the proposal is tantamount to the author’s declaration of readiness to finalise the 3D animated object according to the specification of stage II by May 27, 2022.
The BESTIARIUM exhibition will be held in the first half of June 2022.
3D OBJECT SPECIFICATION
Stage I: open call (until April 28th)
The submitted proposal should be a visualisation of the proprietary 3D object together with the planned scope of its animation. Accepted forms of object proposals:
3D model in .obj format with texture or graphics visualising the full figure and view from several angles in png, jpg, tif format with min. resolution fullHD. Note: please do not send files with the objects for download, the link to the proposal should be included in the application form. Stage II: implementation (until May 27th)
The selected 4 winning projects of animated dragons will be completed by the authors in accordance with the following guidelines:
Low poly model Compatibility with Unity3D Baked animation in .fbx format Looped 3D animation with a length of max. 30 seconds Maximum size of the target file: 15 MB
WHO SHOULD APPLY? The call is for artists and 3D animators, creators related to the gaming community (creators of video games and FX), as well as students and graduates of art universities and winners of the Creative Scholarship of the City of Krakow.
WHAT THE PROGRAM OFFERS Artist fee in the amount of PLN 2,200 (~ 500 EUR) technical, production and promotional support for the project implementation of a ready animated object into the AR application public exhibition of the work as part of the BESTIARIUM exhibition in Krakow APPLICATION FORM AND SELECTION PROCESS

The organiser of the recruitment and the BESTIARIUM exhibition is the Photon Foundation based in Krakow – an entity supporting activities in the field of contemporary culture and digital art and the official organiser of the Patchlab Digital Art Festival in Krakow.
